Communism on Display: ‘Woke’ NBA Prefers China’s Money to Human Rights

Sunday, Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey deleted a tweet and apologized for it’s contents after it appeared as though the National Basketball Association acted as a propaganda agent of Communist China, and demanded a retraction.

Morsey had tweeted support of protestors against the violent communist regime, in Hong Kong, and he received many posts from people in China and Hong Kong who were supportive of his tweet.

But that support was not important to Morsey, as he quickly walked back his support, it is not exactly why he retracted the tweet and the statement, but he did.

Political figures took the opportunity as a “teaching moment” to point out that the Chinese Communist Party’s ideology of global corporate profits is not the same as America’s defense of global human rights.

South Park also lampooned the NBA’s decision to put Chinese money over human rights, and was immediately banned in China as a result.

According to Wikipedia, “the NBA is a men’s professional basketball league in North America, composed of 30 teams. It is one of the four major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada, and is widely considered to be the premier men’s professional basketball league in the world. Wikipedia”

The events and commentary surrounding Morsey’s actions should trigger a deeper investigation into the political ideology of the NBA.  Censorship and Corporate dominance by Communists used to be a concept Americans understood to be negative to human liberty.

Today there are many people in all of the American institutions who refuse to see the difference between nations. Supporters of communist ideology are in sports, news, media and politics.

With today’s “woke” generations, preferring the ease of socialism cum Communism, to the burdens of American civil liberties, bigger concepts of Globalism are confusing to many Americans.

A Gallup Poll of May 2019 showed that 40% of people prefer socialism. The study showed:

  • 43% of Americans say socialism would be a good thing for the country
  • 51% believe socialism would be a bad thing for the country
  • Americans split on viewing the economy as free market or government-controlled

But it was not clear that pro-socialist respondents understood Socialism or how that related to Communism, and therefore how Socialism related to the Chinese Communist Party and their tactics to force compliance.

Celebrity Basketball players, who are also woke social justice warriors, have no problem forcing their political ideology on the American public, by way of Basketball , when it supports Democrat policies. Note, LeBron James.

NBA stars like James and Carmelo Anthony have condemned police violence and racism in the United States, while players and executives have protested President Donald J. Trump’s administration separation of immigrant children from their parents.

According to his LinkedIn page, the NBA executive George Land oversees the Xinjiang NBA training center in China, which is right in the middle of Communist reeducation camps, according to

When we investigate we find that the NBA is part of the actual fabric of the worldwide Chinese Communist propaganda. No wonder they would have been uncomfortable with people who wanted their freedom from the Communists.

Recall this is the very NBA  who also demanded that little girls in North Carolina accept grown men in their bathrooms, against the will of the voters and parents in the state.

Most important to the NBA seems to be their relationship with China, and the potential sale of shirts and tickets to 1.4 Billion Chinese people.
