Desantis Pushes Illegal Immigrants Deeper Into Country, Ships Illegals To Martha’s Vineyard

Another Republican governor has decided to spend taxpayer dollars to ship illegal immigrants deeper into the country.

The office of Governor Ron Desantis (R-FL) confirmed Desantis was responsible for sending two airplanes full of illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.

After Desantis’ plane arrived, the Dukes County Emergency Management Association was forced to open up emergency shelters in Martha’s Vineyard.

“Due to an unexpected urgent #humanitarian situation, #DCEMA are opening #Emergency #Shelters tonight on #MarthasVineyard. If you’re willing & able to volunteer in a clinical or non-clinical role, contact @DukesOffice at 508-684-8015 #VolunteersNeeded #HumanitarianAid #DukesCounty,” the Dukes County Emergency Management Association tweeted late Wednesday night.

Gov. Desantis’ office said the two planes full of illegal immigrants are “part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations.”

“States like Massachusetts, New York, and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden Administration’s open border policies,” a press release from Desantis’ team reads.

A whopping $12 million dollars was spent by the Republican governor to help “implement a program to facilitate the transport of illegal immigrants from this state consistent with federal law.”

Massachusetts state Sen. Julian Cyr, the Democrat who represents Martha’s Vineyard, alleges there was no “heads-up” or warning given to city or state officials.

“There was no advance notice to anyone in Martha’s Vineyard or Massachusetts that these migrants were arriving to my knowledge,” Cyr said.

“It’s pretty disgusting to see that politicians are capitalizing on the difficult circumstances these families are in for a ‘gotcha’ moment and political stunt,” he added.

Desantis’ recent stunt comes after Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey have been shipping illegals all across the nation over recent months.

Conservative voices have lauded the illegal immigrant shipping while Democrats have been infuriated by it.

Florida Democratic Chair Manny Diaz suggested Desantis is doing this for “political points.”

“Even for Ron DeSantis, this is a new low. There is nothing that DeSantis won’t do, and nobody that he won’t hurt, in order to score political points,” Diaz contested.

“This is just another political stunt that hurts our state,” Charlie Crist, Desantis’ Democrat gubernatorial opponent stated.
