Merry Christmas: Elon Musk Accidentally Accepted Jesus As Lord And Savior During Babylon Bee Podcast

73

Technology pioneer Elon Musk was asked to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in a surprise question at the end of his appearance on the Babylon Bee’s podcast, and the Tesla and Space X founder appeared to stall for time before eventually saying he would not “stand in His way” and would “be saved.”

The Babylon Bee podcast hosts explained to Musk that they had a script of final questions asked to every guest, finishing with the surprise theological question.

“Final question to pull some time out here,” said one of the hosts. “Babylon Bee is a Christian organization and we’re a ministry.”

Musk then playfully mocked the group, asking “How come we’re doing the show on a Sunday? Why aren’t you heathens in church?” He added, “God said don’t work on Sundays, okay. Straight to hell.”

“So to make this church,” Musk was then asked, “We’re wondering if you could do us a quick solid and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior?”

After laughing at the unexpected question, Musk eventually answered that he respects and agrees with “the principles that Jesus advocated,” including forgiveness and “treating people as you wish to be treated.”

“Things like turn the other cheek are very important,” said Musk. “As opposed to an eye for an eye, an eye for an eye leaves everyone blind.”

“As Einstein would say, I believe in the God of Spinoza,” said Musk, ostensibly referencing deist ideas.

“But hey, if Jesus is saving people, I mean, I won’t stand in His way. Sure, I’ll be saved. Why not?”

The podcast hosts celebrated Musk’s acceptance.

“I think he just said yes,” one said. “We got him.”

“Just cut it off when he said yes.”

Musk then delivered a humorous and accurate retelling of the miracle of the Wedding at Cana, in which Jesus transformed water into wine during a marriage that was left unequipped to serve his followers.

“I’m not saying I know all the answers here,” said Musk. “It’s just, uh, Jesus was obviously very pro alcohol because one of his miracles was turning water into wine.”

“And it was like, they’re having a party, they ran out of wine, and they’re like ‘Let’s keep this bender going.’”

Musk continued to deliver comedic version of the biblical story, explaining that those at the wedding must have asked, “‘Who can solve this problem? Frigging store’s closed?’”

“Jesus is like ‘I gotcha. Water? Now wine.’ And they’re like ‘Party on.’”

“You’re the Savior, you kept the party going with lots of wine, that’s great,” said Musk.
