Trump Wants Congress To Investigate Obama’s Netflix Deal

Rebuking the Democrat claim that President Donald Trump is enriching himself while serving as President of the United States, the president suggested that Congress should investigate the lucrative deal struck by President Barack Obama and Netflix, that saw the former president and First Lady form their own production company.

On Monday, President Trump tweeted about the Mueller Report and the unsubstantiated allegations that the president has enriched himself during his presidency, saying that the Democrats “failed on the Mueller Report, they failed on Robert Mueller’s testimony, and they failed on everything else” so now they “are trying to build a case that I enrich myself by being President.”

President Trump went on, noting that he has always been expected to lose “BILLIONS of DOLLARS” during his presidency.

“These radical left Democrats are CRAZY! Obama Netflix?”

President Trump had tweeted earlier in the day about the Obama family’s Netflix deal, which is for an unknown amount of money, but saw the Obama family start its own production company, Higher Ground Productions.

“I have a better idea,” tweeted President Trump. “Look at the Obama Book Deal, or the ridiculous Netflix deal.”

He went on, “Take a look at them. Those investigations would be over FAST!”

While no data is publicly available suggesting how much money the Obama family gained from the “ridiculous Netflix deal,” it was speculated by News One that the Obamas could have been paid over $100 million.

News One also noted that Michelle Obama received $60 million for her “Becoming Michelle Obama” memoir:

The former commander-in-chief and his wife, however, have been earning a lot of money since leaving the White House last year. Case in point: Barack Obama was paid upwards of $290,000 for a March speaking tour in Australia, The Australian reported.

The ex-FLOTUS reportedly signed a book deal for her upcoming “Becoming” memoir worth more than $60 million.

The pair had more time to travel to lavish destinations after their White House departure, too. They went to Palm Springs, the French Polynesia, Italy and other places before the Netflix deal was confirmed. If the Obamas get $100 million like Rhimes or more for their deal, their net worth may see a hefty bump.

Meanwhile, Forbes believes President Trump’s net worth has fallen by 31 per cent since he declared his intent to run for president on June 16, 2015.
