VIDEO: OAN Reporter Trolls Journalists by Asking Trump if Chinese Food is Racist

Video footage shows One America News Network’s Chanel Rion asking President Donald Trump if the term “Chinese food” is racist, mocking the incompetence of mainstream media journalists who have become fixated on President Trump’s use of the term “Chinese virus.”

“Do you consider the term ‘Chinese food’ to be racist because it’s food that originates in China or it has Chinese origins?” Rion asked, to which President Trump quickly responded, “No, no I don’t.”

“On that note,” Rion said, “major left-wing news media, even in this room, have teamed up with Chinese Communist Party narratives and they claim you are racist for making these claims about [the] Chinese virus. Is it alarming that major media players, just to oppose you, are consistently siding with foreign state media, Islamic radicals, and Latin gangs and cartels and they work right here at the White House with direct access to you and your team?”

President Trump replied, “It amazes me when I read the things that I read, it amazes me when I read the Wall Street Journal which is also so negative, the New York Times is not even, I barely read it, you know we don’t distribute it in the White House, and the same thing with the Washington Post.”

When Rion asked President Trump if he believes the mainstream media is siding with Communist Chinese Party propaganda, he nodded and said, “I think they do. They are siding with China. They are doing things that they shouldn’t be doing, they’re siding with many others, China is the least of them.”

Video of the exchange can be seen below.

CNN’s Oliver Darcy later attempted to deride Rion as an “OAN personality” and posted a picture of a sheet of paper printed with the words “Do you think your question was helpful in halting the spread of the coronavirus?”

Whether the note was actually delivered to Rion is unknown.
